Dr. Yung, a mysterious Pokémon researcher, has engineered a fresh Mirage apparatus that employs digital information to bring back extinct species such as Kabutops and Armaldo. Professor Oak, Ash, and their allies arrive at the Mirage Estate after receiving Dr. Yung"s summons, where they observe a trial of the device"s functions. Midway through a clash between Dr. Yung"s Mirage Pokémon and Ash, the apparatus malfunctions; a Mirage Aerodactyl emerges and abducts Dr. Yung. A figure identifying himself as "The Mirage Master" surfaces, proclaiming that the Mirage System can forge Pokémon entirely devoid of flaws. Ash, Misty, and Professor Oak battle to thwart the lunatic and flee for their survival against all odds, facing danger with courage.
