An old oracle speaks of a day when the giants of frost, thunder, and flame are upset. When this happens, Lugia, the sea"s protector, will awaken to bring balance again. Captivated by the oracle"s verses, Gelardan, a Pokémon seeker, departs aboard his airship with a grim scheme to seize Lugia by hunting these three giants. Their colossal presence echoes across the ages, reminding all of the fragile balance between nature and destiny. Once Gelardan acts, severe weather shifts erupt worldwide as violent gales surge across the planet. One such gale drifts the vessel carrying Pokémon trainers Satoshi, Kasumi, and Kenji off course to Shamouti Island. Upon arrival, Satoshi learns of the ancient oracle and his role as the chosen one destined to aid Lugia in reestablishing harmony. With the planet"s destiny upon him, Satoshi must gather resolve to confront the turmoil that threatens to unravel all and defeat Gelardan. Yet path remains uncertain, hope flickers like a star.
