Pokémon are wondrous beings that appear in countless shapes and sizes, each endowed with unique abilities, powers, and temperaments. Their diversity ranges from tiny, feather‑light sprites to towering giants that command awe. Dr. Yukinari Ookido has devoted his career to studying these creatures, which can be captured, trained, traded, and pitted against one another. Yet his laboratory has limits, so he gives two young apprentices a Pokémon of their own and a digital encyclopedia to record them. Green, brash, enthusiastic, and a touch haughty, is Ookido"s nephew; Red, equally eager, possesses a wide‑eyed curiosity and gentle naivety.
Pokémon: The Origin tracks Red"s trek across Kanto as he strives to fill his Pokédex by capturing and logging every species. Along the way he learns that his ambitions extend beyond a simple checklist. He will also meet mentors who impart wisdom and face trials that test his resolve. He must test himself and his partners in a series of Gyms, each overseen by a leader who represents the next rung toward the Pokémon League. Only by defeating these champions and the Elite Four can he claim the title of League Champion.
Beyond his quest for glory, Red faces darker forces. A shadowy syndicate—Team Rocket—is among those who hunt Pokémon for malicious ends. The stakes rise as Red encounters rival trainers, each with their own philosophies and strategies. Should Red overcome this threat, alongside rival Green and the wild trainers he meets throughout Kanto, he may realize not only his own dream but also Dr. Ookido"s vision. If he succeeds, his name will echo across the region.
