When a soul has committed unforgivable transgressions, it is expelled from the reincarnation cycle overseen by the Soul Society, and the gates of Hell swing open to consign the soul to everlasting damnation, to condemn it beyond redemption. From that realm where no one has ever returned, three tormented beings who call themselves the Sinners of Hell burst into Karakura Town, where a brutal clash between them and the substitute Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurosaki and his allies unfolds in a frenzy of chaos. After the battle, Ichigo's sisters are taken, and Shuren, the group's leader, seeks to lure Ichigo into a final release from Hell's shackles and end the cycle. Assisted by a Sinner named Kokutou, Ichigo and his comrades set out for Hell to rescue them for safety and justice. Yet the Soul Society blocks the expedition, fearing it could upset the balance between realms. As allies and enemies blur, Ichigo faces his toughest choice yet—a decision that could plunge all three worlds into turmoil.
