Hourai is a enigmatic isle that surfaces for only a brief span every fifty years. Some claim the land conceals the key to everlasting youth; others say it brings calamity upon those who encounter it. When Inuyasha"s party rescues a half‑demon child from a ferocious beast, they discover her name is Ai and that she escaped from Hourai. Unexpectedly, the girl knows Inuyasha and pleads with him to free her companions, who are captive to cruel demons that call themselves the Four War Gods—an adversary Inuyasha recalls vividly.
