The action takes place in medieval Japan. Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimine ordered the establishment of complaint boxes so that every citizen"s voice would be heard and their complaints considered. To this end he founded a special organization that protects people; its core consists of fighters who possess the most exotic martial arts skills. The hero, Tsukishima Jinbei, cannot pass by those suffering misfortune… even if it is an attack by a spider‑like demon.
