A strange contraption crashes onto Earth, igniting a blaze near the campsite of Gohan Son, Kuririn, Bulma, and Oolong. Though they manage to quell part of the fire, the forest remains damaged, so they resolve to employ the Dragon Balls to restore it. Days later, an enigmatic group of warriors plants a seed at the crash site; it grows into a gigantic tree that consumes the forest and devastates nearby towns.
North Kaio informs Gokuu Son that this tree is the "Shinseiju," a sapling that drains all planetary nutrients, leaving Earth desolate while bearing a colossal fruit that grants immense power to whoever eats it. Knowing this, Gokuu and his allies attempt to destroy the tree before it"s too late, yet they realize the task may be far more daunting than expected.
