Emperor Chiaotzu's spouse has vanished, and Master Shen informs him that gathering the seven dragon pearls will summon the immortal dragon to restore her. At the same time, Goku and Krillin participate in the World Martial Arts Contest organized by the Emperor; Bora and his son Upa try to conceal the pearl they discovered from the emperor's troops, commanded by the malevolent Shen and General Tao; meanwhile Bulma embarks on her own quest for the dragon pearls, aided by Yamcha, Puar, and Oolong as they race against time to secure the powerful wish‑granting artifact for victory.
