Conan Edogawa and his classmates must prepare a class assignment on a small enterprise they select for their upcoming project. After eliminating other options, the Detective Boys determine that this is an ideal chance to learn more about Detective Kogorou Mouri"s profession. The friends reject a simple interview, preferring to observe every nuance of his work firsthand, believing it will give them deeper insight. Consequently, they, together with a hesitant Conan and Ai Haibara, decide to shadow the detective for one day. Yet the children soon find themselves entangled in a bleak predicament when Kogorou"s current investigation turns unexpectedly perilous and dangerous for them.
