Following Aichi Sendou's victory over Link Joker, Toshiki Kai assumes the world has settled back into routine. Yet during a trip to Card Capital, he realizes everyone else has erased Aichi from memory. Driven by the need to uncover his friend's sudden absence, Kai embarks on a quest for clues.
While inspecting Aichi's high school, Kai is confronted by an apparition of Blaster Blade, the card that had always been Aichi's favorite. Suddenly a pile of cards appears in his grasp: the Royal Paladin deck that once belonged to Aichi. Armed with these familiar cards, Kai challenges Aichi's teammates to duels designed to awaken their recollections of his influence. Once memories return, they unite with Kai to locate Aichi—and restore him home at any cost.
