The franchise has sparked inspiration for many, including the shy and reserved Aichi Sendou, who routinely faces mockery and intimidation from classmates. Whenever his spirits wane, he glances at Blaster Blade—a legendary rare card gifted to him in childhood—and draws the resolve to keep moving forward. Its tournaments attract crowds and its cards are coveted by collectors worldwide.
Yet one afternoon, school bully Katsumi Morikawa spots Aichi"s prized card and wrestles it from him. Soon after, Aichi learns that the card now resides with Toshiki Kai, a newcomer who has risen to become the town"s top cardfighter. The loss of the card triggers a series of challenges that test Aichi"s resolve. Worse still, Kai demands that Aichi hand over the card only if he can defeat him in a duel.
