After their fierce clash in the national championship, Team Q4 dissolves and each member returns to ordinary life in the streets of the city. While visiting Card Capital, Aichi Sendou spots an unfamiliar patron inside the shop, where the neon lights flicker as he scans the aisles. Once he introduces the mysterious youth to Cardfight Vanguard, Aichi realizes that his usual deck has been reconfigured and turned entirely different.
Despite containing many cards he never encountered before, everyone insists the pieces are exactly those he has always used. The odd boy then vanishes without a trace, deepening Aichi"s confusion even further. As he adapts to the strange new deck, Aichi resolves to uncover what happened and who that peculiar boy really is.
