At the strike of midnight, the Dark Hour emerges—a concealed interval most people do not know about. Those who are not sealed inside coffins during that period, unlucky enough to awaken, encounter perilous entities called Shadows. A few exceptional individuals, however, can command Persona: a unique force employed to vanquish these foes. This clandestine unit is named SEES (Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad), and its goal is to discover why the Dark Hour materializes and to prevent its spread into the living world, which could bring untold chaos.
Soon after transfer student Makoto Yuuki settles into Iwatodai Dorm, his Persona surfaces following an assault by a formidable Shadow. Now enlisted in SEES, he starts battling alongside his allies, as only they can shield humanity from Shadows and halt the anomaly known as the Dark Hour.
