Two brothers, Shin and Jun Kandzato, return to their hometown from which they left ten years ago. But this return is not at all needed by their older brother, Police Chief Ryo. He is busy investigating a series of mysterious incidents: the disappearance of people from a submarine submerged in the ocean, horrific deaths of others literally turned inside out, an incurable mental disorder among guards whom Ryo had assigned to schoolchildren under special surveillance… All of this recalls events from a decade ago, when Jun lost his twin sister Yuki. Meanwhile, at their new school, Shin and Jun encounter a strange obsession that has taken hold of the teenagers. It is called "shadow extraction"; it provides a special pleasure and, in its effect, resembles a narcotic. Some students feel ill after it, while others simply vanish. All of this is linked to Shin"s dreams, in which he sees a strange creature emerging from his body and fighting other beings. Perhaps it is not just a dream, because Ryo possesses a similar ability: to release his own "Persona," which confronts the Personas of criminals from a secret organization. It seems that the police chief knows the reason for the changes that have occurred in the city, but for some reason he is reluctant to share this information with his colleagues…
