Saya Otonashi appears to be a normal girl living a simple life with her adoptive family in Okinawa City. The only oddities are that she suffers from anemia and cannot remember anything older than a year. Yet her lost memories soon return—one night she is attacked by a blood‑thirsty creature at school. Just when all seems lost, a stranger named Haji steps in and temporarily drives the beast away. He then forces her to drink his blood; Saya falls into a trance and kills the monster with ease, using her own blood as a catalyst. She learns that Red Shield is an organization created to defeat such horrors. From then on, Saya and Haji join forces with Red Shield to fight these terrifying monsters while uncovering the secrets of her past.
