After a truck collision in 2014, Akira Natsume wakes from a sixteen‑year coma to discover he is fused with a machine. As he learns the new interface, police officer Minami Uezono and her android partner Alma show him that his brain is housed inside a device called an EX‑ARM—a weapon of mass destruction. On a hostile smuggler ship, the three must escape using only their ingenuity and combat skills.
Initially reluctant to fight, Akira is reminded of his brother"s words before the accident. That memory drives him to act, taking control of Alma"s body and using martial arts against their enemies. When Alma plugs him into one of the ship"s ports, he realizes the devastating power of his EX‑ARM by effortlessly hacking and commandeering the vessel.
After safely reaching land, Akira meets the EX‑ARM Countermeasure Prevention Team, a police division tasked with neutralizing these weapons. Witnessing the atrocities committed by those who seek to wield EX‑ARMs, he resolves to join the team and put an end to the terror these devices cause.
