Reito Mizuhara is a medical student at the National Advanced Medical School in Tokyo who becomes infected with a rare, fatal disease known as cellular sclerosis. In the sterile lab where his condition appeared, doctors devised a risky plan. To receive treatment, he is placed in cryogenic suspension for five years. When he awakens, he discovers that a year into his sleep, a global pandemic erupted, caused by the new Male Killer (MK) virus that attacks only men and has exterminated every male on Earth. Luckily, Reito and four other men survived the cryosleep and are now immune to the pathogen. As the sole surviving males, they are charged with breeding with as many women as possible to restore humanity. Yet Reito remains devoted to his childhood friend and love, Elisa Tachibana—only to find out she vanished three years earlier. While the other survivors adjust to this altered reality, Reito chooses to seek Elisa, battle relentless temptation, and probe the mysterious virus.
