While Yoko has her assistant comb the ocean floor searching for something, Madoka, who is no longer able to pilot Midori properly, returns to Kamogawa to observe the New Year. Upon arriving home, she receives New Year's letters from Lan and Muginami that update her on their current lives, to which she replies promptly. As the months pass and Madoka advances a year in school, Lan and Muginami travel to an intergalactic replica of Kamogawa on the tourist planet Polyhedron. This storyline takes place between seasons one and two.
