Kakushi Gotou is a moderately well‑known manga creator whose titles are notorious for explicit material. Because of this boldness, he promised himself that when his daughter Hime arrived, he would keep his career a secret from her, fearing she would be disappointed if she discovered it. In the series, viewers witness his daily juggling of art and fatherhood.
This anxious conviction throws Kakushi into frantic scenarios. Though he is a lone parent, he goes to great lengths—posing as an office worker daily or staging mock emergencies—to shield his secret, just in case Hime stumbles into his workplace. He also keeps a diary of his attempts, hoping to explain the truth when Hime is ready.
Kakushigoto follows a father and daughter cohabiting while the dad strives to maintain normalcy. Yet, as the adage goes, "no secret stays hidden forever." Eventually Hime learns the truth behind the assumptions she once held.
