After overcoming the inner battles of his past, Daigo Shigeno keeps playing baseball and has become captain of Fuurin Private Academy Middle School"s team. Together with Mutsuko Sakura, his elementary‑school friend, he strives to guide the squad toward triumph. Yet unforeseen events have reduced Fuurin"s roster to just six players: Daigo, Mutsuko, Yayoi Sawa, Tao Sagara, Seira Kandori, and Hiromu Tanba. With mostly women on the field and little experience, they find it hard to earn confidence from newcomers Akira Nishina, Anita Kabashima, and Chisato Fujii. Confronted with a lack of coach, troublesome recruits, and a small squad, Daigo"s determination is challenged as he works to unite the team before their inaugural tournament.
