After the Inter-High tournament, Karasuno High"s volleyball squad opts to regroup by joining a rigorous training camp hosted by Nekoma High in Tokyo. During the sessions, the team endures successive defeats against rival schools present. Stuck at a stalemate, each player battles to escape their habitual patterns and sharpen their abilities.
For the pair of setter and ace, Shōyū Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, the setbacks make them stumble more than any other.
