Kimihiro Watanuki wants to rid himself of seeing spirits, so he works for Yuuko—cleaning or errands—to pay and keep his life ordinary. In xxxHOLiC Shunmuki, Watanuki and Shizuka Doumeki dine with Kohane Tsuyuri and her grandmother, reflecting on how each has changed since meeting and the bonds they share. Later, Watanuki dreams of Doumeki's grandfather Haruka asking him to find items in the family temple"s storeroom, a task that feels like a hidden ritual. Together with Doumeki, he discovers the task is a treasure hunt: each object leads to another, guiding them toward an unexpected yet inevitable ending that reshapes their destiny. Throughout the dream, Watanuki feels a sense of purpose and the weight of his choices, realizing that each step brings him closer to understanding himself and the world beyond.
