Born in a graveyard, Kitarou is a youkai youth whose only kin left is his largely rotted father, the sole survivor of the Ghost clan. Though he has lost his left eye, hair typically hides its hollow. He strives to broker harmony between humans and youkai, usually by shielding people from the latter"s schemes.
This rendition of Kitarou draws from the original Hakaba‑Kitarou comic that sparked the famed Gegege no Kitarou series of the late 1960s, a classic from that era in the midnight.
