Mizuki Henmi is a teenage girl who knows Shu Suzuri, an unremarkable young proprietor of a traditional Japanese bookshop. While visiting his shop one day, Mizuki discovers that Shu intends to auction a rare and priceless volume. In her excitement she mishandles the tome, shattering its protective seal and summoning a peculiar little spider.
