In the late 19th century, in an alternate Japan, the Meiji Restoration also prevailed, bringing many Western customs to the country—including political correctness! Demon yokai living among people were recognized as a national minority, and problems with them were prescribed to be solved not by brute force but strictly within the framework of accepted legislation. The Yokai Order, established during the Sengoku period, was reorganized into the Ministry of Yokai Affairs. Naturally, the composition of this esteemed institution must be mixed, and three young lieutenants are sent to the Ministry—handsome general"s son Agemaki, brave servant Yosinakadzuru, and cheerful short Hanakiri. Each officer was to work with a local specialist—half‑demon girls who outwardly resemble humans but possess spiritual powers and familiars. In the end, Agemaki partnered with the smart and sardonic Dzakuoro, Yosinakadzuru with the modest and responsible Susukihotaru, and Hanakiri with equally cheerful and wild twin sisters Bonbori and Hozuki. Now the newly formed teams must preserve national peace by dealing with any supernatural incidents. Although each of the main heroes and heroines has their own problems, goals, and dreams, although polishing and combat cohesion may take a long time, we know—they will succeed.
