Chiyo Sakura is a bubbly high‑school student who has become utterly infatuated with the unaware Umetarou Nozaki. To her bewilderment, when she declares her love, he presents an unfamiliar signature. It turns out the reserved teen is actually a celebrated shōjo manga creator, writing under the alias Sakiko Yumeno! A string of mix‑ups causes Chiyo to become one of Nozaki"s illustration aides.
During the comic mishaps that follow, she bonds with many eccentric classmates, including her unapologetic fellow assistant Mikoto Mikoshiba and the "School Prince," Yuu Kashima. Gekkan Shōjo Nozaki‑kun tracks Chiyo as she assists Nozaki"s work, hoping he will finally recognize her affection.
