Shikada Kokonotsu"s father, the owner of a village confectionery shop, dreams that his son will take his place. But our hero is not eager to become the next head of the shop; he has entirely different plans—Kokonotsu wants to become a mangaka! One summer, a sweet but strange girl named Shidare Hotaru, daughter of the owner of a well‑known confectionery company, visits their shop. As it turns out, Kokonotsu"s father is quite famous, and she wants him to join her family"s company. However, he will agree only if Shidare convinces Kokonotsu to take the reins of their village shop into his own hands.
