With each passing season, Mochizou Ooji"s third and final year of school nears its close. He plans to attend a university in Tokyo, yet this means abandoning those he loves—including his cherished childhood love, Tamako Kitashirakawa. While she has no future ambitions beyond staying in their hometown to tend her family"s modest mochi shop, Mochizou must summon the resolve to tell Tamako his feelings before it is too late, or risk his affection fading into oblivion and the memories of their shared childhood adventures, which he fears might dissolve without his voice in the quiet dusk.
