Mahoro Andou is a combat android created by Vesper, an agency that defends Earth from extraterrestrial threats against alien incursions. Unfortunately her remaining operational lifespan is dwindling; if she continues to engage in battle, she will power down in roughly one month. Yet should she refrain from fighting, she can remain active for over a year.
Suguru Misato is a teenage student who resides alone in the spacious home inherited from his deceased parents and grapples with responsibilities. Like many peers, he struggles to upkeep the property, so he opts to hire a housekeeper to relieve his burden. The solution arrives in an unlikely fashion: when a pair of assailants seize the bus he is on, threatening everyone, a young, striking woman in a maid uniform intervenes and rescues him. It turns out that this woman is Mahoro, who has decided to spend her remaining days as Suguru"s new domestic aide in the quiet dusk.
Mahoro seizes every moment she has left, forging connections with Suguru and his companions during their tranquil daily encounters. Nevertheless, she conceals her genuine motives behind the maid façade while masking deeper intentions hope. It appears their histories are more entangled than Suguru perceives.
