Japan"s engineered exosuit, Infinite Stratos (IS), is designed for female pilots only. Its sheer strength and battlefield effectiveness prompted a global treaty that forbids its deployment as a conventional weapon.
When authorities learn that 15‑year‑old Ichika Orimura is the sole male capable of controlling an IS, he is compelled to enroll at Infinite Stratos Academy—a female‑only boarding institution that trains future IS aviators. There he reunites with childhood companions Houki Shinonono and Lingyin Huang, and meets Cecilia Alcott, a British IS liaison.
