In a secluded wasteland on the world of Zi, a youth named Van stumbles upon a derelict complex. Within the ruins, he discovers a translucent shell that ruptures spontaneously, revealing a dinosaur‑shaped automaton dubbed an "Organoid." Van christens the machine Zeke, claiming it as his own, yet a gang of marauders soon pursue him to capture the Organoid. The raiders wield "Zoids," beast‑like mecha used for battle. Van counters the assault by reanimating and merging with a relic Zoid known as the "Shield Liger." Returning to the site with Zeke in tow, Van spots a fresh cocoon. He is thrilled at the prospect of another Organoid, but when the shell cracks, a girl materializes instead.
