The show centers on Arashi and his Wild Liger companion. The chief foes are the Death Metal Empire, commanded by Gallagher. They wield Zoids to seize territories and command numerous Zoids and fighters, among them the Four Heavenly Kings.
Arashi yearns to emulate his father's legacy as a Zoid Hunter and discover his perfect Partner. Early in his quest he allies with the Wild Liger, encounters Bacon and Team Supreme, who reveal the legend of the Great Ancient Treasure Z.
