It is 1991, and the life of Yaguti Haru, a sixth‑grade student, consists only of video games. He is not popular at school; he is neither handsome nor funny, nor good, nor even friendly. The only thing he can be proud of is that he excels at video games. One day, in a local arcade, he meets his classmate Akira Ono, a popular, intelligent, beautiful, and wealthy girl who, to his surprise, defeats him in Street Fighter II. He not only lost to her 30 times in a row at his favorite game, but he cannot win even a single match against her! Haru cannot get rid of Akira because she follows him to the arcade after school and always wins. And as strange as it may sound, this pair begins a strange relationship and friendship.
