Fuutarou Uesugi excels academically, yet his life is far from easy. His aloof demeanor and tendency to withdraw have left him without friends, while his father"s debts force the family into constant struggle. His academic record is impeccable, but the weight of his responsibilities crushes any semblance of normalcy.
During a lunch break one day, Uesugi clashes with a transfer girl who insists on occupying "his" seat, sparking mutual dislike. Later that same day he is offered a lucrative tutoring position for the daughter of a wealthy family, paying five times the usual rate. He takes the job, only to realize that the client, Itsuki Nakano, is exactly the girl he had scolded earlier.
Attempts to mend relations with Itsuki fail, and Uesugi learns that she is one of five sisters—Miku, Yotsuba, Nino, and Ichika. The girls, all at risk of failing, are averse to any tutor. Despite the initial hostility, Uesugi"s determination to help his family pushes him forward. With his family"s survival hanging in the balance, he persists, determined to transform the sisters" disdain for learning and guide them toward graduation. His resolve is tested, yet he never wavers. The sisters" skepticism grows, but Uesugi"s patience and expertise slowly erode their resistance.
