Spectral entities called Mushi persist in altering human lives with enigmatic shifts. The itinerant Mushishi Ginko continues to attempt to restore the bizarre and unsettling predicaments he encounters. Time loops, living silhouettes, and telepathy are among the obvious manifestations of Mushi interference, yet more subtle signs that surface over years also alarm Ginko as he journeys from hamlet to hamlet.
By happenstance, Ginko has assumed the role of judge, deciding which Mushi bring blessings and which deliver curses. However, the boundaries he draws are subjective. Some of his clients choose to embrace their newfound abilities until they become wholly consumed; others strive desperately to shed afflictions that actually shield them from ruin. Those who meet Mushi must accept seemingly impossible outcomes for their deeds and mend hidden wounds they were unaware of. Otherwise, they face fates beyond comprehension.
