Beyond the visible world accessible to the senses, there is a space where flies coexist side by side with humans. People have grown accustomed to fearing these strange creatures, which often become sources of disease and misfortune, though not by their own volition. However, there are those who can see flies and know how to control them. Such specialists are called "Fly Masters." Ginko is a wandering Fly Master. Sometimes he is invited to help, sometimes he himself becomes involved upon hearing about an unusual creature, and other times he goes to a place he once visited. He often has to not only expel dangerous flies but also heal human souls. Each case is unique, as human destinies differ from one another. Yet Ginko does not seek to destroy flies – it is far more interesting to understand their essence. The detective foundation of "Fly Master" turns the series into a chain of mysteries and investigations. The mystical side makes each story an allegory. Action unfolds slowly in a quasi‑medieval Edo era, amid forested mountains and rice fields. There is no particular dynamism here, but there is plenty of poetic depth.
