The plot centers on an ordinary high‑school student named Daichi Kakeru and a can of melon‑flavored soda he grabs from a vending machine. Unexpectedly, the can morphs into an alluring yet aloof girl whom Daichi calls 'Melon', and additional 'Akikan' ('empty can') girls materialize. Yet, these Akikan must receive a carbon‑dioxide infusion to become fully human in the bustling school courtyard during lunchtime today.
