When Kodaka Hasegawa learns he will be moving to a new school, he resolves to leave a good first impression and perhaps make friends. Yet Kodaka quickly learns that his blond hair and fierce look brand him as a violent troublemaker, and the label sticks. Even after a month, his infamous reputation keeps him isolated. Change comes when he encounters Yozora Mikazuki, another loner who talks to an imaginary friend in a deserted classroom.
Sharing their solitary high‑school experiences, Kodaka and Yozora decide to tackle the challenge of befriending themselves by forming the Neighbor's Club. The club, aimed at those without companions, offers daily sessions that teach social skills and integration techniques, hoping to help members forge friendships. With the addition of Sena Kashiwazaki, a fan of eroge games, and other quirky misfits, Kodaka may finally find people he can truly call friends in a club brimming with comical oddities. Their new community thrives on shared awkward moments, laughter, and the gentle support that turns strangers into allies.
