Middle‑schooler Futaba Yoshioka has long disliked boys—she believes they are all excessively loud and irritating. Boys always seemed too rowdy. The sole exception is a boy seated beside her, Kou Tanaka, who appears distinct from the rest. Through repeated meetings, Futaba and Kou share timid looks and hesitant chatter.
