After defeating the threat posed by the Easter Corporation, Amu Hinamori and the Seiyo Academy Guardians resume their council responsibilities, removing any stray X Eggs they encounter. They patrol the academy grounds, ensuring no X Egg remains unchecked. With four of the five members graduating this year, the composition of next year's Guardians Council remains uncertain, leaving a leadership vacuum that threatens the academy"s stability. To secure its continuity, the group enlists two "Guardian Apprentices," hoping they will one day produce their own Heart"s Egg.
Among the apprentices is Rikka Hiiragi, a cheerful girl who can communicate with X Eggs. Since the Guardians have never previously spoken to these Eggs, Rikka"s extraordinary talent captivates them. Yet Rikka worries that if her technique is ever revealed, she may never be accepted as a full Guardian. Her confidence in her gift is tempered by the fear that exposing it might jeopardize her future.
