On August 10, 2002, the eruption of Mount Fuji, along with a series of massive earthquakes and tsunamis, devastated Japan, plunging the nation into emergency status. Subsequently, a colossal quake struck on August 15, dividing the island into northern and southern halves. While displaced citizens were welcomed abroad, the Japanese administration accepted assistance from China and the United States, which ultimately led to Chinese control of the north and American oversight of the south. Fifteen years later, those residing in Taiwan and local residents began to clash over employment opportunities and the deteriorating conditions of the refugees. Genichiro Ryu survived the calamities but was adopted by a Taiwanese couple and raised in Taipei. He became involved in mediating tensions, hoping the two groups could live together peacefully. Despite cultural differences and lingering mistrust, his efforts aim to foster mutual understanding and shared prosperity for all. Through community projects and educational initiatives, hope grows that harmony will endure beyond the scars of disaster.
