From the earliest days of dial‑up to today's fiber optics, networks have woven themselves into every facet of society. Every network spans the globe, and the evolution of digital connectivity has reached its pinnacle. In this era two sophisticated realms exist: the tangible world and the interconnected, virtual cyberspace.
Soma Toru is a member of the hacking collective Steppen Wolf, which roams freely through cyberspace. Their final operation targets a UN database. During the assault he loses Nonomura Yuya, his friend and team leader. The military apprehends Toru. To secure his release, he must serve an anti‑cybercrime unit—the inaugural squad of the UN Security Force Information Administration Bureau.
While employed there, he hunts the individual responsible for his friend"s death, whereas the other squad members pursue their own motives.
Daily clashes erupt among the terrorist faction, the security corporation, and the army. The incidents that unfold seem disconnected at first sight, yet they all converge toward a single event as if drawn together.
These digital arteries carry not only data but also power, politics, and personal narratives that shape our reality.
