On a chilly December morning, Kyon steps into school ready for another excursion with his SOS Brigade comrades. Yet he is startled to find almost everything altered: Haruhi Suzumiya and Itsuki Koizumi are absent; Mikuru Asahina fails to recognize him; Yuki Nagato behaves like an ordinary human; and Ryouko Asakura inexplicably reappears. Though accustomed to the supernatural, Kyon feels unsettled by this strange shift and resolves to probe the mystery alone. His senses register that the corridors feel different, as if time itself has been rewoven. Now the sole witness of the former reality, Kyon confronts a hard decision: embrace the normal life he has always craved or seek a way to rewind time and bring back his chaotic, familiar world. Yet the urge to restore chaos gnaws at him, pulling his resolve toward a reversal.
