While traveling alongside Jack Atlas and Crow Hogan, Yuusei Fudou"s Stardust Dragon is seized by Paradox, a shadowy Turbo Duelist from the future, during an intense Turbo Duel and transformed into a Sin Monster. Assisted by the Crimson Dragon, Yuusei pursues Paradox as the latter slips through a time portal, landing in the past. In that era, Paradox battles Jaden Yuki, who still wields the powers of Yubel and The Supreme King. Yet by then Paradox had also captured Cyber End Dragon and Rainbow Dragon, overpowering Jaden. Yuusei and the Crimson Dragon rescue him from defeat. Jaden reveals Paradox"s true plan: by plundering monsters across eras and corrupting them, he intends to slay Maximillion Pegasus, the originator of Duel Monsters, thereby stopping the game"s creation and erasing all three series" events.
Yuusei and Jaden decide to chase Paradox, which brings them back in time and leads to an encounter with the King of Games, Yuugi Mutou. However, when they arrive, Paradox has already struck his own era, apparently killing both Pegasus and Yuugi"s grandfather, and has also pilfered Blue‑Eyes White Dragon and Red‑Eyes Black Dragon. After briefing Yuugi, he consents to join Yuusei and Jaden in a decisive three‑on‑one duel against Paradox, aiming to liberate the captured monsters and save both world and time before it"s too late.
