The main heroine, Tokaku Azuma, is training to become a hired assassin and is one of the best students. Her teacher, Kaiba, selects a girl as a representative of his school who must transfer to Meijo School and train in the Kurogumi group. Nevertheless, Kaiba himself considers Tokaku to be the worst student. The Kurogumi group in which the girl will study is a special class formed for a short period. The last time it existed, it lasted only two weeks. In this class there are 12 assassins, and their sole target is Haru Itinosé; the destruction of whom is the purpose of forming Kurogumi. In this class there are three rules. First: whoever can kill Haru will receive any reward they wish. Second: the means do not matter, but involving anyone other than members of the Kurogumi group is forbidden. Third: an assassin who fails or violates the second rule will be expelled.
