Hiyorimi Hiro relocates to a new city to stay with his older sister, yet he dies before locating her. He then awakens into a new existence as a retainer for a Princess of the Monster Realm, who unexpectedly employs his sister. Monsters soon emerge to assault or harass the princess because she is heir to the throne, and Hiro must shield her at all costs (and repeatedly die in battle, again for protection).
