The four fighters—each possessing a blood‑line limit such as Kakashi"s Sharingan, Naruto"s Nine‑Tails chakra, Sakura"s regenerative power and Sai"s mimicry—had been trapped in a dimensional rift. Their vanishing alarms the world, prompting investigation.
Tsunade"s plans collapse when Hiruko—the mastermind behind the incident and a Konohagakure operative obsessed with domination—declares he has absorbed the four ninjas" abilities. Near invincibility, he demands one more blood‑line limit before launching an assault to seize control of the world.
Because Konohagakure"s ties to Hiruko raise doubts in other countries about its involvement, Tsunade receives an ultimatum to resolve the crisis.
