Shoutarou Futaba has always cherished athletics, yet he never progressed beyond a reserve player on his middle‑school baseball squad. One day, while watching a troupe of gymnasts rehearse in the park, he impulsively decided to attend a rhythmic gymnastics contest. Despite delivering an electrifying routine, the Shoushukan High School Rhythmic Gymnastics Club finished second‑to‑last, penalized for failing to field a complete six‑person lineup.
The display of artistry fascinated Shoutarou, prompting him to apply to Shoushukan with the aim of joining the squad even though he had no prior experience. The club welcomed him together with Ryouya Misato, a gifted gymnast who had placed second in a junior championship.
With a full roster of six athletes, the team now prepares for the forthcoming Inter‑High tournament. As Shoutarou strives to meet this lofty goal, he must quickly acquire and perfect the fundamentals of rhythmic gymnastics while collaborating closely with his new teammates to give Shoushukan a realistic shot at the title.
