A new academic year has commenced at Ayanagi Academy for Yuuta Hoshitani and the members of Team Ootori. As the school"s yearly graduation play, titled "Shadow and Lights," draws near, the sophomore cohort in the Music Department is required to join the production as part of their coursework. Of the 25 students in the division, five will be granted a training role and actively perform alongside the graduating cast. Securing one of these prized positions will elevate a student"s status in the department and place them in contention for a seat on the prestigious Kao Council.
Although every student in the department seeks one of the five training spots, Riku Ageha from Team Yuzuriha is effectively a frontrunner for the part of Alexis" Shadow. Having admired an Ayanagi alumnus"s rendition of Alexis, Ageha has devoted most of his life to refining the role in anticipation of being chosen for the show. Conversely, Hoshitani"s lack of stage experience puts him at a significant disadvantage for any role in the production.
With specialized instruction from the "Ancients"—former Kao Council members and Ayanagi alumni—the sophomores pour everything into their efforts as they chase the stars and beyond.
