A brand‑new high school year always signals many adventures, and among them is the choice to join a club. Faced with uncertainty over which group to pick, Yui Hirasawa discovers the Light Music Club and submits an application, mistakenly believing it focuses on simple instruments like castanets. Lacking any musical skill, she plans to visit the club to apologize and withdraw.
At the same time, the Light Music Club is on the brink of dissolving because of dwindling membership. The remaining members offer everything—from snacks to leisure time—to persuade Yui to stay. Still, she refuses, citing her inexperience with instruments. As a final tactic, they perform a short composition for her; the music ignites her enthusiasm and finally convinces her to join.
From that point onward, practice becomes a playful mix of trials and errors. The Light Music Club members are eager to make their shared sessions enjoyable. Their camaraderie grows stronger each day, turning rehearsals into cherished memories.
